GARDEN CLUB LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES
No one is ever too young or too old to learn about the many aspects of gardening. CAR-SGC offers education programs for our members, scholarships for college and graduate students, and youth programs to encourage an appreciation of nature in children from elementary school through high school.
Schools & Symposia for Garden Club Members
Education begins for garden club members at the local level with Programs by local experts on topics of interest to club members at our monthly meetings. As a member of National Garden Clubs, Inc., garden club members also have the opportunity to collaborate with and learn from national and international experts on wide ranging topics such as Horticulture, Floral Design, Gardening, Landscape Design and Flower Shows.
Scholarships for College and Grad Students
College and graduate students may apply for scholarships offered by garden clubs at the local, state, regional and national levels. Eligibility is limited to students planning a career related to gardening, landscape design, environmental issues, floral design, horticulture or another related field of study.
Garden Club Programs for Kids and Teens
Your interest in gardening as an adult may have started as a child by helping a parent or grandparent in their garden or participating in scouts or other organizations. Many local garden clubs encourage children and teens to participate in activities, programs, and contests that promote gardening and conservation, often in collaboration with local schools.
